10 Things I Never Knew About Facebook

Facebook. It's a term we are all familiar with, we have heard the name, it has a bigger branding than just about any major company you can think of, in fact Facebook is referred to more than Google. How many times have you turned on the news just waiting for something new to appear about this social media giant, in fact Facebook is so huge just ask your parents or grandparents if they have ever heard of it, there is a very slim chance that they haven't.

Today we're digging a little bit deeper through apps and secrets about Facebook, here are 10 things you or your friends probably never knew about Facebook Well, you can see for yourself:

1. Update your Status Via "Anything you want"

How would you like to update your status via Toilet Seat? Or even better, through anything you want, you can use your own name, your friends name or yeah.. whatever you'd like. Here is how it's done: Create your own facebook application by going to https://developers.facebook.com/apps here you can create your own facebook application.

Click Create App

Choose Create App in the upper right hand corner, go through the process and name the application whatever you'd like, keep in mind that the app name is what your via "app name" will display as.

App ID

Here comes the most important part, are you ready? The app ID is what you will need in order to post statuses after you save your application copy this and add it to the end of this url:

http://www.facebook.com/connect/prompt_feed.php?preview=true&api_key=

After the "=" sign is where you put your app id or api key, so in this case ours would look like:

http://www.facebook.com/connect/prompt_feed.php?preview=true&api_key=109381645823618

Copy the URL that you created into the address bar in your browser you will now get a window that looks like this

Create your status then you can now post this to your wall, easy as that- watch the video below if you still are confused.

2. Funny Facebook Status Redirect:

Post this as your status using the link: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?=73322363. This will redirect any user that clicks on this status to their own facebook page Believe me this will create a string of comments, but you can have a lot of fun with this fun little trick!

3. Private Status and Funny Prank for Friends

Ever wanted to post something but didn't want certain people to see? Simply click the little lock on Facebook>Customize and then you can choose who you want to see or block from seeing as far as status updates, posts, photos and links go. Want to take this trick a little farther? See Below:

Next time your friend leaves their account logged in change their privacy settings to as followed, any posts they add in the future will no longer be publicly visible, they will go crazy wondering why everyone is ignoring them- I've done this once and it worked like a charm!

4. Change Your Facebook Language!

This can be another great joke to play on your silly friends who just love leaving their Facebook account open, or you can give this a whirl yourself.

While logged into Facebook go to the footer/bottom of the page and click where it says: English (US)

After clicking the English link you will see various languages you can change to, pick whatever you'd like, in this case we are choosing pirate.. Enjoy the results!
