Yo Yo Dieting

If you€re reading this, you most likely have tried the €dieting€ thing a time or two in your lifetime. American€s go to crazy extremes to lose weight, whether its pills or cutting out entire macronutrients, such as carbohydrates and/or fats. Let me just say that this is AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!

Most people who are trying to lose weight have most likely tried just about every diet out there and are still trying to lose weight. This pattern usually starts at an early age, sometimes as young as a teenager. Studies show that those who €diet€ or more likely to be overweight than their peers who have never dieted. Not only is this very frustrating, but very un-healthy for your body. This is why I always tell my clients, €this isn€t a diet, this is your NEW LIFESTYLE.€

So many cli ents that I€ve worked with have tried to get themselves into a fast/binge pattern, trying to lose a certain amount of pounds before a big event, and figure that a few weeks of intense working out and low calories will do the trick. Then after the event, they go back to €normal€ and gain all the weight back, sometimes even more weight than before. Not only does your sensitivity to insulin take a hit, but your T3 levels sky rocket, your muscle mass decreases (which decreases the ability to burn calories), decreases bone mineral content and decreases bone density. Unfortunately, all of these things set you up for failure and proves that each new diet a person tries will end with little to no success. And this is just the beginning of a Yo Yo dieting pattern.

The only way to break this pattern i s to stay away from €fad€ diets and learn how to make healthy dietary and lifestyle changes. Don€t waste another day without help.
